Postgraduate
The Centre for Forensic Science offers five postgraduate programmes:
51220 - Graduate Certificate (one year part time)
50320 - Graduate Diploma (one year full time)
51520 - Master of Forensic Science by dissertation and coursework (two years full time)
50770 - Master of Forensic Science by thesis (one year full time)
00880 - Master of Forensic Science/PhD (four years full time)
Units Not-for-Degree basis
Students who enrol on a not-for-degree basis through the University Extension Service (Access) may choose to undertake specified units in the Graduate Certificate or Diploma (up to a maximum of 6 points as stated in Regulation 6.5.5 (3). All core units are available through Access (except Research Issues in Forensic Science and Case Study units). Where a student continues to the Graduate Certificate or Diploma, credit will be given for the units already completed. Students need an average of 70% to apply to do the complete degree.
Prerequisites
Graduate Certificate - Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. Relevant work experience will also be taken into consideration.
Graduate Diploma - Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. Graduate Certificate in Forensic Science. Relevant work experience will also be taken into consideration.
Master of Forensic Science - Honours degree in a relevant discipline. Completed Graduate Diploma in Forensic Science.
Master of Forensic Science/PhD - First class honours or upper second class honours degree in a relevant discipline. PhD proposals must be submitted to the Postgraduate Studies Committee prior to commencement of studies.

PhD Scholarships
Students wishing to apply for a PhD scholarship must complete and submit a scholarship form from the Graduate Research and Scholarships Office.
