Thesis

Exploring the Relationship Between Sexual Fantasy and Deviant Sexual Behaviour. A Preliminary Study Comparing Western Australian Non-offending Sexual Groups and Literature Descriptions of Sexual Offending Groups.

Summary

This research is a preliminary study that will analyse the sexual fantasies and deviant sexual behaviours of non-offender males and females aged 18-35, here in Western Australia. Various groups will be asked to participate, by completing sexual fantasy and Aggression questionnaires. The questionnaires include questions of an explicit nature on sexual fantasies, family background and personal sexuality. On completion, their responses will be compared with documented information on the sexual fantasies of convicted sexual offenders.

Why my research is important

A comparison will be made between the nature of sexual fantasies and behaviour of the non-offender, with those of the sexual offender, to determine whether one group exhibits more deviant sexual fantasies than the other. This comparison may provide key points that may lead to the understanding of whether those who exhibit more deviant sexual natures are more likely to commit sexual crimes.
